Electric Train Set O Gauge, Don’t Buy A Train Unless You Can Play With It
I’ll delete posting immediately upon sale, so if you are reading this, I still have train set.
Vintage 027 scale, O gauge, Marx Steam Locomotive, number 490. I found on the Internet that this engine was manufactured from 1962 to 1975. The set includes everything you see in the pictures. Although this train is vintage, it is a set to be played with and enjoyed. This would be a nice set for a young child or a child at heart!
You get the 490 plastic 0-4-0 steam engine with working headlight, the New York Central full length coal tender, the New York Central 715100 gondola car, the New York Central flat car, and the Penn Central Pacemaker caboose.
This engine runs forward and reverse and changes direction each time you stop and then turn on power again.
Engine armature plate has been cleaned of all carbon and the brushes are flat, in excellent condition. The copper pick-up shoe where the engine gets electricity from the track has also been carefully cleaned.
You can see the really large layout of the more expensive and better tubular O gauge track. You get a total of 12 pieces of true O gauge track, comprised of 8 curved and 4 straight. Track has been cleaned, straightened and carefully assembled and is currently set up so I can demonstrate before you decide. You can see the large layout should fit around most Christmas trees, if that is your intention.
Included is a Marx 25 watt transformer and lock-on.
Train runs very nicely. Recently cleaned and lubricated, runs great.
I’m generally available during the day or night for demonstration and pick-up. From a smoke and pet free home.
