Individually they stand on their own sonically: the Eminence is slightly scooped in tone, the V30 notoriously pushes the mids. Paired, this is a killer sounding match up, where each is working its own magic while supporting the others weaknesses.
Never found them to be lacking for any tone I was working with. Never lost in a live mix playing either one alone or together.
If you are considering these and have never played a V30 before do know that at home use never sounds the same as a it does in band mix. It’s just part of the mystery and magic of the esteemed V30. Also of note, the British made one is not a spiky in the mids.
My use of these was practice with the Eminence at home, rehearse with the V30, gig with both.
Both are gently used, hardly abused. I respect the gear too much, however, I had no intention of babying them either. So, scuff marks from normal use is to be expected. The included covers were used.
