This beautiful nylon string (classical) guitar was made by a famed Japanese master luthier Kazuo Yairi.
As far as I can tell, it was hand-made in Yairi’s factory in Kami, Japan in 1982.
This is an Alvarez by Kazuo Yairi which is different from Alvarez guitars, many of which were partially made by machines.
I bought it in 1982, new, in NYC! It has a beautiful, rich tone. I’m pretty sure that it has a cedar top and burled back and sides. It has a beautiful mellow loud sound. The neck is straight. It has some dings, as you can, but it is beautiful.
I've looked up this serial number and model. number and it seems that the guitar is worth about $750. but I can't seem to find a buyer! I no longer play guitar and would love someone to have this.
