For sale comes this very interesting and well preserved piece of industrial history.
A "Frahm" vibrating reed tachometer... manufactured by the James G. Biddle Co., Philadelphia, c. 1950's
Works by attenuation. Each metallic reed is tuned to a specific frequency. When excited by a motor or engine, it vibrates that reed, indicating a specific RPM.
Requires no electricity, batteries or any type of hose connection. Just mount onto something solid... and your done.
Would make a very unique dashboard tachometer... or even employed as a working instrument.
Condition is very good and is completely functional.
