John Kilroy created the poster for the Festival of the Arts event held in 1998 entitled “Postmark.” Kilroy practices the “alla-prima painting technique” whereby the artist completes a painting in a single session, producing a fresh and spontaneous effect. Bold brushstrokes highlight Kilroy’s distinctive depiction of the Marshfield Hills Post Office located in the historic area of Marshfield where the yearly gathering of the Festival of the Arts is held.
