Goodrich Lumber is an independent lumber & building material company in Kingston MA. We focus on being a leader in education, products, code compliance, and the evolution of building sciences. The existing operation is widely recognized for knowledgeable and professional employees (currently 30+), quality building materials, specialty woods, moldings, and exceptional service; following the Sandler sales philosophy. Goodrich is looking for the right person with the aptitude, knowledge, and desire to aspire to be the GM.

This position will work closely with the current GM/Owner utilizing the continued business philosophy, overall management including sales, customer service, inventory, delivery, human resources, safety, and administration. The position will plan and direct these operations to meet target goals; support and reinforce company safety initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA & DOT requirements; foster a healthy work environment; oversee managers who supervise various departments and direct, coordinate, and evaluate these departments as well as ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include motivating/maintaining a productive workforce, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.

Additional responsibilities include and not limited to:

  • Budgeting and P&L Oversight.
  • Cost and Margin Control.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management.
  • Overall Operation of Branch while Driving Growth and Profitability.


  • 2+ years management experience.
  • Must have management and sales experience in the building products industry (i.e. full line building products, lumber, roofing, siding, windows/doors, millwork, etc.).
  • Must possess a coaching/visionary leadership style.
  • Must have P&L experience with aspect to managing sales and operations.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

Company offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience. We will relocate the right candidate.
