Our client in the tech field located in Quincy is looking to bring on board a Payroll Specialist.

Qualified candidates will have prior experience doing the following:

-Responsible for end-to-end management of payroll function in multiple states; processes payroll, commissions, bonuses; prepares journal entry for each payroll period
-Ensures complete confidentiality with payroll records, payroll data and personal information
-Ensures organizational compliance with federal and state pay-related legislation through multiple states; researches laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures
-Responsible for daily activities relating to the payroll process which includes the auditing and processing of payroll adjustments, manual checks, direct deposit, employment verification, computing wage and overtime payments, and termination checks
-Calculates 401(k) Plan contributions for each pay; uploads and funds 401(k) Plan
-Reviews quarterly payroll tax reports for federal and multiple states; audits W-2 reports annually prior to distribution
-Reviews employee expense reports for proper backup and appropriate use of account codes and approvals before processing payment through payroll
-Works collaboratively with the HR Team to ensure smooth shared processes and to deliver great service to employees
-Responsible for vendor payable processing from receipt of invoices to payment: prepares vouchers and approved invoices for payment; processes payments in a timely manner; prepares Form1099's annually
-Works with management and vendor responsible parties to ensure invoices are properly approved in a timely manner
-Responds to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices, expenses and check requests; resolves invoice discrepancies
-Proactively seek ways to continuously improve processes and practices that will result in greater efficiencies and better controls
-May provide administrative support for the department related to invoicing, scanning and accounts receivable
-Assists with related special projects as required
-Performs other duties as assigned

-4+ years of Payroll Experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment
-Strong foundation of payroll compliance
-Working knowledge of payroll and accounting systems
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or commensurate experience
-Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
-Proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills
-Demonstrated ability of maintaining confidential and proprietary information, setting professional boundaries as needed
