POSITION SUMMARY:


The Assistant Dining Coordinator assists the Lexington Dining Site Manger with dining services to seniors at a senior meal site.

SCHEDULE: 8 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Pick up meals at caterer (Brookhaven at Lexington) and drop off equipment after lunch.

  • Assist with serving meals and clean up including dishwashing.

  • Ensure food handling practices and procedures adhere to agency standards and fire, health, sanitation, and safety codes.

  • Display a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude while working as a team member and pitching in.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

COMPETENCIES NEEDED:

Customer Service Skills - demonstrates good listening skills, self-control, empathy, humor and positivity.

Adaptability-manages competing demands and able to deal with change, delays or unexpected events.

Dependability-consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School graduate or equivalent work/life experience in community or social group (paid or volunteer);
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly;
  • Familiarity with the Lexington area preferred;
  • Must be able to lift bags/coolers weighing a maximum of 35 lbs.
