This is an antique bow back spindle Windsor chair with a rush seat - at least that's the best description for this that I can come up with. It looks to be early American, and dates back to my great grandfather's time at least. The chair has a rush seat mostly intact (a few rows are missing on 2 of the 4 sections), and it is painted black (has been since original manufacture). The bow back has 2 cracks in it, shown in the pictures, so while you can still sit in it, it does need repair ultimately. The base is very solid, no separation on the legs, and the 5 spindles are solid in the back. The chair is stamped/stenciled on the bottom "Concord" and "164". The chair is 35" high at the back, the legs make a 16" square footprint, and the seat is about 14.5" deep and wide at the widest points.
