favorite this post Seeking Host Families for Chinese Exchange Students for Fall (Peabody, MA) hide this posting unhide

Families in and around the Peabody area,

Bishop Fenwick must find two homes for two wonderful, endearing, and intelligent Chinese students who will be attending our school this Fall. Bishop Fenwick works with New Oasis Internation Education to find nurturing and supportive local host families. We are looking to give these students their definite placements by the end of late June, and are currently processing and interviewing families before presenting the students with their options. We would love to speak with those interested!

A Bishop Fenwick host family needs to provide:
Transportation to and from school, may ride the school bus
3 meals a day, may eat school lunch
A separate bedroom (but may share a bathroom)
Parental supervision of a young adult eager to study hard and learn about American culture

In exchange for opening your home for this wonderful and unique experience, you receive:
An amazing cultural experience
A generous monthly stipend from New Oasis
Ongoing academic and social support from Local New Oasis Coordinator and Bishop Fenwick
A mutually rewarding experience!

Bishop Fenwick and New Oasis are always available to answer questions and help provide guidance when needed.

Our New Oasis students are from different major cities in China. They all have studied in international programs at their respective schools and excel academically. They have been carefully screened by New Oasis to ensure a good fit with Bishop Fenwick and interviewed by New Oasis personnel.

Currently we are expecting Jessica and Jason! Jason is going to be a Freshman (9th grade) this upcoming school year. He loves music, especially singing and playing guitar. He is an experienced badminton player and played on a provincial team. His favorite book is "Forrest Gump." While attending Bishop Fenwick he would love to get involved in band, chorus, tennis, and international clubs. Jessica is also going to be a Freshman in the Fall. She loves to travel and has been to the U.S. before as well as the United Kingdom and Australia. Jessica likes to play the piano and sports with friends. While attending Bishop Fenwick she is hoping to join clubs that have an emphasis in volunteer work.

If you are interested in hosting beginning this upcoming August please respond to this to get in touch with our local coordinator for the Peabody area. Look forward to hearing from you!
