condition: good
make / manufacturer: Gibson
model name / number: XR-III Studio
I'm selling one of the rarest Gibson Les Paul models and a real collectors item.

This one is the first - or at least one of the first - Gibson Les Paul Studio guitars ever sold! In fact, this is a super rare Les Paul XR-III (only made in low numbers between May and the end of 1982), that likely got a Studio truss rod cover in the Gibson Kalamazoo factory and was sold as a new Studio in 1983 - the official launch of the Gibson Les Paul Studio line.

It's all original, including Tim Shaw PAF pickups, full sized mahogany body with maple top, one piece mahogany neck, etc. It currently has Schaller Strap Lock buttons installed, but the original strap buttons are in the non-original SKB hardshell case.

It's in rather good condition for a 42 yo guitar, with a few dings and dongs, mostly on the edges (check pictures for details). There are no breaks or repairs. At one point, a pickguard had been installed. The wiring harness is untouched and original.

Most importantly - it's a great sounding and playing guitar!

This is a super rare guitar with unique looks (I mean, how can you resist a candy apple / metallic red Les Paul?) that would make great player and/or a valuable addition to a Gibson Les Paul collection.

I'm not interested in trades. And yes, if this listing is up, the guitar is still available. Please don't ask. Thanks.
