Position Summary
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the temple. This role includes routine cleaning, room setup, and basic maintenance as needed to support services, events, and daily operations.
Job Duties
General Cleaning
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Clean and maintain kitchen areas
• Spot clean walls, doors, glass, and other surfaces
• Perform periodic detailed cleaning as needed
Facility Setup & Support
• Move and arrange furniture (chairs, tables, etc.) for programs and events, following diagrams
• Reset rooms after events
Maintenance
• Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed
• Report repairs or facility issues to management
Additional Responsibilities
• Assist with other tasks as assigned to support temple operations
Requirements
• Some cleaning or janitorial experience required
• Commercial cleaning experience is a plus
• Ability to lift and move furniture and perform physical tasks
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
• Positive attitude and respectful of a Temple environment
• Team player
