Hi, I've been living in the West End of Malden near the Oak Grove T in a very nice house for 10 years but my landlord wants to renovate my apartment and sell the house, so I have to move. I have some flexibility in the moving date, but would like to move as soon as possible.

I'm hoping to find an affordable first floor apartment nearby, but I'm considering Melrose, too.

I need to be close to a T stop (bus or subway) since I don't have a car and need to commute to work.

I'm a quiet, responsible tenant, an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher (who also works in Cambridge in a literacy program for families with young children) who is a non-smoker with no pets, no kids, no car. :)

I'd love to find a place with hw floors. I prefer a house to a large building -- I really want to control my own heat.

I also want it to have gas heat because oil heat has been very expensive.

I really want it to be on the first floor -- much easier with groceries, etc.

(Thanks for the offers for a 2nd floor or 3rd floor apartment, but I really want a First Floor apartment.)

(Also, thanks for offers in Burlington, Wakefield, Saugus, Stoneham, Salem, Marblehead and Woburn -- but those are too far for me to easily take buses to work and I don't want to deal with the time and expense of the Commuter Rail.)

(And I don't want just a room or room and bathroom -- I don't want to get rid of my furniture and books... I've appreciated the calls from people looking for a roommate to share their nice apartments, but I have too much stuff after 10 years here and I really don't want to get rid of everything and downsize that much! So, I am not looking for a roommate situation.)

Thanks,
Donna
