Todays thieves are getting smarter don't fall victim to their scams.
when selling or buying a vehicle be sure to meet in a public location, your local police departments offer space to do such, be sure the title is real look for anything that out of place, look for the water mark in the title by holding it up to a light, confirm vehicle identification numbers match with the ones on the car, look for numbers that look out of place, look for the hidden vins placed on the inside of the door jams be sure they match, you can have the police confirm the car is not stolen simply by requesting a vin check.
An overpayment asking for a balance back is a scam. sending deposites or receiving electronic deposits and or payments can be reversed and both parties out money you can't get back. cash is great as long as its not face looks for water marks hold the bill to the light complete your transaction in a local bank have them verify the cash is real, verify funds when accepting checks local banks are more than willing to help.
