This is from the last year that Trek manufactured a lugged 9xx mountain bike frame, and utilizes an 1 1/8th headset as well as 135mm rear dropout spacing, so you can run (semi)modern parts. I had this built up as a Rivendell Clem Smith knock off, for a few years, and it has been a wonderful bike. Recently I've moved the parts over to a Trek 970, so it's time to let this move to a new home.
Most of the stickers aside from the "USA" and True Temper tubing sticker have been removed, the paint has seen better days, and if you intend to use a front derailleur you will likely want to use a clamp on stop. *The reason for clamp on stop is that this was one of the first years that Trek switched to top tube cable routing, but they continued to use bottom pull FD's with a special setup(I'll include the FD and an explanation of how it works if you choose to go that route rather than using a clamp on stop).
Will include: frame, threaded fork, headset, stem, seatpost, BB(excellent condition Sugino cup and cone), crank arms(no rings, but I'm sure I can dig some up if you let me know what you want), and seatpost clamp bolt. I'll also be selling the threadless Surly LHT fork in the photo of the built up bike separately. Lots of other parts for sale if you are looking to piece together a full build.
The picture of the frame and fork is post disassembly, the built up photo is how I most recently had it setup. I'm north of the city, but can find time to meet in Boston/Somerville/Cambridge.
