Original Beautiful and Classic Gilles-Francois Closson “Market Lake” oil canvas landscape painting. Closson was a Dutch landscaper/painter that lived 1798-1842. Student of the famed french history and neoclassical painter Antoine-Jean Gros. In 1842, Gilles gave up history painting and fully dedicated himself to landscape painting up until his death in 1842. This rare painting is believed to have been painted between 1800 and 1842. Signed by G. Closson on the bottom left.
