Bike Boom in Davis square, Somerville is currently offering two positions:

Service or General manager and Bicycle mechanic

We are a full service bike shop that focuses primarily on the commuter, pleasure and fitness cyclist. At the moment we are one of the highest customer rated bike shop in the Boston area, largely due to our service department. The ideal candidate will want to maintain and even improve on that. There is room to grow in our business. The right candidates will be eager to prove themselves in order to progress. Hourly pay is very competitive and will be commensurate with experience. There are many fringe benefits including ordering parts through the shop at wholesale cost, upward mobility, and actually having fun at your job.

Bike mechanic:

We are looking for experienced mechanics to fill the position of a junior (beginner) mechanic and a senior mechanic.

Necessary:
Passion for bicycles
Eye for perfection
Strong work ethic
1 year of bike shop experience for junior mechanics or significant experience working on several bikes in the past.
3 years of bike shop experience for senior mechanics
Strong customer service skills

Desired:
Selling ability
Experience with Lightspeed POS system

Bike Shop Service Manager or General manager

We are looking for an experienced mechanic/service writer to fill the position of service manager with an option to become general manager.
The service manager will be in charge of quality assurance, communication with customers, ordering parts, inventory, and guiding the junior mechanics. You will also be expected to perform sales, interact with customers and repair some bikes.
