Room for rent to the right person. Short term 1 month - 3 months preferred. Available around May 26. Duration of stay and move-in date negotiable. Excellent location for busy people in the medical and research field: med students, post-docs, researchers, traveling nurses and people doing residencies or rotations in the Longwood Medical Area (LMA).

About the location:
1st floor of 2-family house in Brookline Village; neighborhood ("Pill Hill") is very safe, quiet and beautiful; 5 min walk to D & E lines, #39, #60, #65, #66 bus stops. 20 min walk to Trader Joe's (Coolidge Corner) and 10 min to Stop and Shop (which are also on bus route). Shops, services and restaurants in the "Village." LMA, Museum of Fine Arts and Symphony Hall an easy trip on the E Line. Can be in Copley Square in about 15-20 minutes. Easy 15 min walk to LMA/Harvard Med/HSPH.

About my apartment:
Large eat-in kitchen w/ pantry, dining room, living room, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, approx. 1200 sq. ft.; W/D in basement. Front porch, back porch, and side yard! I grow lots of herbs. I pay for gas heat in winter, use fans in summer. Except for a few days each summer my house stays pretty comfortable since it is quite shaded; window A/C only when necessary.

About your bedroom:
10' x 11' with one closet and two windows, one facing south and one facing west, great for cross-ventilation. The room I am renting will be furnished with a dresser, desk and chair, and a full-size bed; for rentals longer than one month, please bring your own linens.

About the monthly rent:
Your rent will be $1350, which will include utilities (wi-fi, gas, electricity*, water). We will split cost of shared consumables (e.g. paper towels, dish liquid, hand soap, etc.) only if your stay is longer than a month. On-site parking is not available. You will have full access to kitchen/pantry/eat-in area, shared bathroom (fully renovated last fall), W/D in basement, and outdoor spaces. You may use my pots & pans and dinnerware, etc. *(If you wish to use a window-unit AC you will need to pay for the cost difference in electricity.)

About me:
I am originally from Iowa and have lived in the Boston area for 22 years (and have rented this apt for 16 years). In my former life I was an interior designer and worked in architecture firms designing offices, schools, etc.; then I got a Master Degree in Sustainability & Environmental Management; and now at the present time I work for the Town of Brookline. I am very active in the community. I'm a quiet tenant, but a very out-going, personable and friendly person. I do not smoke, and do not allow it in my house nor in the outdoor spaces; I do love red wine and dark chocolate (my primary vices). I have an 8 yr old tuxedo cat from Manhattan, and last month I adopted a 7 year old rescue pup from Texas. She is the sweetest dog. Unfortunately I cannot have any other cats or dogs live here, but dogs are welcome to visit! Ideally, you LOVE animals, but at the very least you must like them; they have access to all spaces except you don't have to let them into your room if you don't want to. They "own" the house, I just pay the rent.

About you:
You are clean, responsible, respectful and courteous, and relatively quiet. You do not smoke (not allowed in or out on property) drink excessively and are not a big partier. You are busy with work, perhaps focused on research in the lab, in school, etc. and you do not work from home/remotely except for in rare circumstances. I'm ideally seeking a female renter; no couples, no families. If you are interested, please email me and tell me about yourself. Move-in date is negotiable. A commitment of some specified duration is preferred; references will be needed. .

I look forward to hearing from you.
