Large room with private, en suite half bath and private balcony available 4/1 in spacious Medford/Somerville apartment!
Hello! We are looking for a new housemate in our spacious apartment. We have one cat and cannot have more pets, sorry. As housemates, we value a balance of authentic connection and space for alone time. Generally we have our own lives but strive to feel like a collaborative household where we enjoy each other’s company and work together to run things smoothly.
-Lease renews in September, we are looking for someone to stay on the new lease
-Rent is $1425, likely to increase slightly in September
-Utilities are $50-$150 per month
The Apartment:

-4 bedrooms/2.5 bathrooms
-Eat-in kitchen, dining room, living room, back porch, backyard, office, music corner (with keyboard, guitar, accordions, etc.), and mudroom
-Free in-unit, non-basement laundry
-South Medford right on the Somerville line
-5 minute walk to the Ball Square Green Line (T) station
-Steps to the 89 bus to Davis Square (Red Line) and other bus lines
-Steps to BlueBikes

Confession: we used slightly old photos! We now have a TV in the living room and some furniture is different. Still cozy and wonderful!

-Shares full bath on same floor with one other housemate
-Large, east-facing with large windows and lots of light (gorgeous sunrises if you’re into that!)
-Private balcony
-Two large, sloped closets
-Ceiling fan
-Freestanding A/C unit
The Roommates:
-Carly (she/her) is a 28-year-old white, cis, queer woman. She works from home as a clinical research data manager. In her free time she will usually be thrifting, crafting, going on long walks, or spending time with her girlfriend and/or her friends. She also enjoys live music, random animal facts, fancy cocktail bars, card games, fitness boxing, and playing tennis.
-Sophie (she/her) is a 37-year-old white cis woman. She works as a teacher and is involved in the local Honk and choral music scenes. She also enjoys puzzles (jigsaw and crossword, mostly), reading, Geocaching, hiking, traveling, and snuggling with her cat, Nessie. She enjoys furnishing the house with items from local Buy Nothing groups.
-Rebecca (she/her) is a 32-year-old white, cis woman. She currently works from home as a medical coder. She enjoys reading, playing video games, going to museums, and trying to find a hobby after recently graduating from college.
-Nessie (she/her) is a stunningly adorable 8ish year old tuxedo cat. She enjoys hanging out on the porch, playing with a broken mardi gras necklace, sitting on laps, carrying her toys from room to room, and napping in her pineapple shaped cat bed. She does not tolerate other animals, sadly.
-We are all vaccinated against covid and rabies (and everything else)
-We enjoy feeling like a household rather than a collection of bedrooms
-We value our individual lives and respect each other's alone time, but are also up for hanging out and watching TV together or chatting/meowing about our days
[I, the poster, am the housemate that is moving out with my partner – posting on behalf of the house to find a subletter to take over my lovely room!]
