We are a 7-person vegetarian coop house seeking new housemates (move-in date flexible).
It's a spacious, beautiful historic house, with lots of common space, a beautiful kitchen, a large porch, a big yard with a garden and compost setup, and solar panels (those aren’t historic!). The available rooms range in size from quite small, but cute, to large. They can be furnished or not.
The cooperative house is an exciting place to live. We encourage community: sharing chores, cooking dinners, and consensus decision-making. We enjoy hanging out together over meals, talking, gardening, watching movies. We are politically progressive. There are plenty of social possibilities, but we are also independent people with our own lives and friends.
Uphams Corner is a diverse and centrally-located community in Dorchester. The commuter rail is two blocks away and the Red Line subway is about a fifteen-minute walk. There are also plenty of buses. We are a bike-friendly household. If you have a car, there is off-street parking available.
We are queer-friendly. Sorry, no smoking or illegal drugs. We currently have a feline "housemate", so that unfortunately rules out people with cat allergies (and he may not welcome another cat, so we aren’t sure about more felines).
Rent ranges from $664 - $809. Utilities, including internet, average about $120. There are also shared food expenses.
If you're interested in living with us please send an email. Tell us why you’d like to live in a co-op house, what prior experience you have living with housemates, and anything else about yourself you’d like us to know. Please give us a phone number also. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
(Note: if you email us and it looks like we haven't replied, please check your spam folder. Craigslist emails often go there.)
