Five beds, three bathrooms - Victorian-style house
Osborne Road, Brookline, MA 02446
Thanks for checking out our post!
We're a laid-back, friendly group of guys looking for another person to join our mini-family at our house in Brookline. One of our roommates is moving in with his fiance, so we're looking to find someone new to call our house home.
When can I move in?
June 1st is the move-in date, but there can be some slight flexibility here.! Ideally a few days after the first to make the moving process smoother, but this can be discussed. The lease is for a full year, to May 31st, 2025. The cost up front will be the first month ($1,234), the last month ($1,234), and a security deposit ($500). We're looking for people who can stay the whole year, and two years would be ideal, though you need only commit to one.
What's the house like?
We're very lucky to have the whole house to ourselves. That's right, the whole house! Each of us has a bedroom, and there's even an extra bedroom left unoccupied, where we can put up guests. We have a fully-equipped kitchen, a laundry room on the ground floor with washer and dryer, and a large living and dining room with a keyboard, a comfortable sofa, and a wide-screen TV.
How's the location?
We're one block away from Commonwealth Avenue, but sheltered from all the noise and bustle of the street in a cozy little corner of north Brookline. The house stands on Osborne Road, a peaceful, leafy street. On mild days you can sit out on the porch and watch the town go by. We have very pleasant next-door neighbors. Just a two-minute walk around the corner is the Babcock Street stop on the Green Line (B), and a large Star Market, too. Coolidge Corner (including Trader Joe's) is a fifteen-minute walk away. There's plenty of great restaurants in the area, and around the block is Clear Flour Bread, our wonderful local bakery, where you can buy delicious fresh bread and pastries every day of the week.
What about the rent?
The rent is $1,234 per person each month. Our utilities run between $100-$200, depending on the season, so if you can comfortably allow for $1,400, you'll have no trouble. Our landlady takes great care of the house (her old family home), and is always very thoughtful and responsive in addressing anything that comes up, including repairs and maintenance.
Who are we?
We are all between 25 and 33 years old. We have a great easygoing rapport, and have become friends during our stay here. All of us lead busy lives, and keep our own patterns throughout the day and the week, but we get along very well and work together to keep the house running along smoothly. Maybe you'd like to join us!
You can learn more about us if you come by the house to meet us, but briefly, we are:
David a biotech scientist and Harvard researcher
Luke, a PhD student in Biostats at Boston University
Rafa a researcher at Dana-Farber.
Joe the lead drummer for the Grateful Dead
Anything else I should know?
Our house is a no-smoking property, and no pets are allowed either, we're afraid. No parking is available for you on the property, but you can easily rent a space just across the street.
How does that sound? Interested?
If so, please reply to this posting and tell us a bit about yourself. What's your current situation, where do you work, what are your habits and your typical schedule, what do you like to do in your spare time, etc. We can also answer any questions you may have. If we both think you'd fit in well with our household, we'll be glad to invite you to meet us and take a tour of the house. We hope to hear from you!
