Liquor Store Sales Associates (CAMBRIDGE)

We are seeking sales associates for all shifts. All applicants must have full shift ability (days, nights, weekends and holidays).

Our strong preference is to hire candidates with experience working in a retail wine, beer and spirits store with specific product knowledge of wine, craft beers and spirits. Candidates with wine, beer and liquor sales and service experience in a restaurant, pub or club (or with equivalent knowledge) will also be considered. Candidates with other retail experience and a good working knowledge of, or interest in, wine, craft beers and spirits will also be considered.

Candidates must (1) have good people skills and references, (2) be 21 or older and (3) able to lift and carry 40 lbs. All employees are required to be (or rapidly become) proficient in operating a cash register and credit card machine and to pitch in on all tasks during their shift and make sure all tasks get done without prompting. Strong preference will be given to hiring, and assigning more shifts to, candidates who can potentially work multiple days/shifts and be willing to swap shifts with other staff and who display a good work ethic.

Compensation is competitive and will be based on experience, work ethic, product knowledge and the ability to sell and provide good customer service. 401(k) with matching is also offered.

Employees are required to:

Keep wine and spirits stocked and accurately priced on shelves and floor displays and
keep the beer cooler and cooler doors stocked (some case lifting required);

Maintain the cleanliness/appearance of the inside and outside of the store and displays;

Assist customers with purchases (and, ideally, match food with wine, beer and/or spirits) and with carry-outs;

Dress and be groomed neatly;

Learn how to accurately open and close the register and the store;

Be open to expanding craft beer, wine and spirits knowledge to assist in identification and selection of products for sale; and

Assist in all other operations/tasks as directed by the manager and shift supervisor.
