Obtains prior authorizations for imaging studies, surgery, and medications.
Coordinates prescription refills with physician and/ or physician assistant.
Generates disability insurance claim forms and work reports, and communicates any fees for processing to patients in consultation with the physician and or physician assistant.
Monitors no-shows in EMR.
Develops and maintains correspondence, labs, office notes and office supplies.
Prepares and monitors documents to be scanned into EMR.
Performs clinic preparation for weekly clinics to ensure that all reports and necessary information are available prior to appointment, including inputting of ancillary testing orders, for exams such as x-rays, MRI's, CT's etc.
Monitor and distribute mail including requests for narrative reports.
Process Physical Therapy script requests/renewals.
Monitor and distribute faxes daily.
Monitor work queues for practice daily.
Provides routine administrative support such as: typing memos and letters, answering and transferring telephone calls, and taking and distributing messages.
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
High School Diploma/GED required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact well with others, to include academic constituents, patients, physicians, and co-workers.
Familiarity with office equipment; dictators and Dictaphones, photocopy machines, computers, printers and facsimiles
Individual must be extremely organized, flexible, and independently motivated.
Ability to work and make decisions independently with minimal supervision.
