This is a fully onsite Administrative Assistant for Compliance opportunity with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Jamaica Plain, MA. The role supports a property management compliance team through administrative coordination, documentation review, and program support. The position pays $24 per hour, runs approximately 4 months with potential extension, and follows an 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM schedule, with a virtual interview process.
Job Responsibilities
Provide administrative and clerical support to compliance, occupancy, and recertification teams
Review, compile, and maintain leasing and compliance documentation
Process move-ins, move-outs, transfers, lease renewals, and recertifications
Coordinate inspections and communicate with property owners regarding compliance status
Ensure accurate data entry and recordkeeping in internal systems (e.g., SharePoint, property management software)
Support general office operations including mail, supplies, and reception functions
Assist with rent processing, file audits, and documentation tracking
Interact professionally with tenants, staff, and external partners while upholding tenant rights
Candidate Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
At least 2 years of administrative experience or equivalent education
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office systems
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively on a team
Professionalism, strong ethics, and ability to work in emotionally complex environments
Experience in property management, database systems, or human services settings preferred
Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and supporting organizational mission
