Live-in Staff

Specialized Housing, Inc., is seeking an individual for a live-in position in one of our houses, located in Arlington, MA, near Arlington Center (Spy Pond area). This position offers a private studio apartment, including utilities and off-street parking, in exchange for services provided to ten adults with developmental disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), experience in residential care, and familiarity with the developmentally disabled population. Flexibility with one's personal and professional or school schedule is also needed at times. This role is also best suited to a positive, autonomous individual, who can connect personally with residents and families and create an environment for each resident to become more independent.

General Job Duties:
The live-in staff is responsible for direct care support and light on-call duties. While on shift, the live-in staff is responsible for general oversight of resident and house safety. Prompting and supervision of personal-care tasks for residents, assisting with meal preparation, and weekend shopping trips as needed. Shift duties may change as the needs of our residents change over time.

Schedule:
Hours include direct care shifts (evenings/asleep overnight, early mornings, and some weekend hours depending on the house). On call duties are at the discretion of the program manager, typically one weekend per month.

Interested individuals should reply to this ad with a cover letter and your professional resume. Three professional references and a CORI check are required for this position.
