This position will instruct program participants in the Commercial Cleaning Training Program, and prepare them for competitive employment in the commercial services industry while providing excellent cleaning services in-house and to off-site commercial contracts. This position provides coaching, training and supervision at various job sites for job training and transitional employment programs. This position monitors and communicates program participant's progress with the Workforce Development team in addition to supporting participants during the job search period. Builds and maintains positive customer relations at job sites, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to contract and scope of services. Performs other instructional and administrative duties as assigned.
Commercial Cleaning Training
Responsible for the instruction of trainees in the Commercial Cleaning Training Program using existing curriculum
Provide supervision of program participants enrolled in Commercial Cleaning Training Program who provide cleaning and custodial services to agency as well as at off-site commercial contracts
Assign and review training activities during participant assessment period in Commercial Cleaning Training Program to determine participant potential for progress into a competitive work environment including assessing skill level at entry into program
Provide some classroom based learning including weekly orientation for new program participants
Responsible for the safety of program participants in training program; reports urgent participant issues to appropriate parties in a timely fashion
Maintain cleanliness of Community Work Services buildings and off-site commercial contracts for employees and visitors and insures completion of work at all sites
Schedule and coordinate site staffing for in-house training and off-site commercial contracts
Maintain complete and accurate daily participant attendance and punctuality documentation through manual and computerized record keeping; input payroll and database information in a timely fashion
Maintain and execute inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies and equipment for in-house and off-site contracts
Maintain good customer relations with off-site commercial contracts
Assist the Director of Job Training Services in identifying and growing commercial contracts to provide transitional employment opportunities for program participants
Workforce Development Team Support
Prepare accurate and timely feedback to Case Managers on participant training progress and hands on skills and work behaviors; participates in case conferences as needed
Assist with recruitment of candidates for the training program and participate in assessment, completion and placement support activities.
Conduct assessments and relay feedback to the Workforce Development team regarding potential candidates for off-site and transitional employment positions
Support and mentor trainees utilizing a positive and encouraging approach.
Attend weekly New Starts meeting and relay trainee feedback from both the in-house and transitional employment training programs to the WFD team
Assist WFD with placement assistance including employment-partnerships prior to and during job search
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent commercial cleaning skills including current knowledge of techniques, products and equipment used in the industry
A high degree of technical ability to relay information in a manner that provides a positive learning experience
Ability to demonstrate concern and sensitivity towards trainees and their individual needs and learning styles while still providing consistent training and education for all program participants
Knowledge of and ability to follow Agency policies and procedures.
Knowledge of and ability to follow department policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to be flexible, adapt to changing situations, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
Ability to plan and schedule personnel as required

Excellent organizational skills
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff and management
Ability to work independently and take initiative when appropriate
Associates Degree, Vocational Degree or other recognized certification in related field, minimum requirement
Possession of valid and current Class D Massachusetts Driver's License
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word programs
2-4 years of relevant industry experience at a supervisor or higher level
Experience with curriculum development and teaching experience strongly preferred
