The Domestic Service Worker performs general maintenance duties to ensure the work and residential areas are sanitized to highest standard of cleanliness and maintain it in an orderly manner, using equipment, chemicals and cleaning solvents.
Responsibilities include the following:
Maintains assigned areas in building(s), performing general maintenance duties such as, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming office space, recreational areas, hallways, stairs, windows, bathrooms, empties trash and garbage containers.
Maintains high standard of cleanliness, neatness, orderliness and safety, which comply with criteria established by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and OSHA.
Notifies management concerning need for minor repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
Maintains cleaning product supply room and other areas in neat orderly manner; submits weekly requisition to replenish inventory of cleaning and bathroom products and supplies.
Posts signs to advertise of wet/slippery or other dangerous conditions in floors, hallways or stairwells.
May move furniture and/or equipment as required for cleaning purposes. May set-up and breakdown dining rooms before and after meals and wash dishes.
Secures and disposes of any chemical cleaning products in accordance with OSHA standards; assists in checking school for safety hazards and reports any deficiency.
To perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, print and speak simple sentences in English.
