This DOD R-825 rackmount 1U combo compressor has been great, but another bandmate got a different compressor that we've wound up using more, so this thing has started to sit around a lot. I've also used it a bit as a limiter, but we have a full-blown limiter now as well so that's not been needed, either. It works perfectly and is in great shape cosmetically minus the scuffs and whatnot on the bottom (which you'd never be able to see once it's racked up). There's also some "rack rash" around the rack mount bolt holes but the panel itself - the part you actually see - looks great.
Unit is in excellent 100% working condition and we just went through and tested it to confirm, but you're welcome to test it yourself or to bring your own gear to see if it would work well with your setup. I found it really easy to dial in a good tone with this unit compared to many other compressors - I also found it really helpful to have the attack and release times marked right next to the knobs. The gain reduction LEDs provide a clear indicator of what's happening as the signal passes through the unit and there's a whole de-essing section as well - you can choose to use the de-esser with or without the compressor depending on what you need. I didn't really make use of the sidechaining features, but you could absolutely do so if that'd be helpful for your style of mixing/music.
When I first got this guy, someone in the community linked me to an article on some good starting settings to use for different types of instruments - this might've been it: https://www.muzines.co.uk/articles/dod-r-825-compressor-de-esser/6335
Trying to downsize so cash sale is preferred, but trades for other music gear may be possible - let me know what you have! Thanks
UPDATE: Added pictures - if you're one of the people who asked for photos, let me know if there's anything else in particular that you'd like pictures of! Thanks
