Apparently people were calling these "the MPC killer" when they first came out?
This machine is a mile deep - record & edit samples, build patterns, sequence songs, record live parts, mix master & burn a CDR.
It can also receive record edit sequence & output MIDI signal. Tons of Roland sound banks onboard, & a decent bass synth. Can import audio files via USB type B, data CD or floppy disk, can be modded to accept thumb drives, can grab bits of audio off an audio CD.
If you can find Roland's edirol vlink gear, it can be modded to associate a sample with a jpeg or gif & send that out a VGA cable, like triggering the audio triggers the visual as well.
