The Vox amPlug Lead is a tiny headphone guitar amplifier that plugs directly into your guitar so you can practice silently. It’s part of the long-running amPlug series, which became popular because it lets you get real amp-style tones without carrying an amplifier.
These came out around 2007 and quickly became one of the most common portable practice tools for guitarists.
The amPlug Lead is basically a pocket-sized amp simulator. You simply: Plug it into your guitar’s output jack, Plug headphones into the unit, Turn it on and play. It produces a high-gain lead-guitar tone designed for solos and heavy rock.
Because it runs on batteries and weighs almost nothing, you can practice anywhere without an amp.
