Don't want to spend $75 on a beat up Boss TU-2... then get this for half that. This is fully functional, and in great shape. Built like a tank.
The GFS GFT-90 is a chromatic guitar tuner pedal made by Guitar Fetish under their GFS Electronics line. It appeared around 2009 and became popular because it offered the same basic functions as expensive tuner pedals but for a much lower price. It is a simple, rugged pedalboard tuner similar to pedals like the Boss TU‑2 Chromatic Tuner, but at a lower cost than those pedals. A 9V battery is included.
Works with guitar, bass, and other instruments
Detects all 12 notes of the chromatic scale.
Bright LED display
Large display designed to be easy to read on a dark stage.
The design averages several signal samples to keep the tuning steady and accurate.
Power
9-volt battery or standard 9V pedal power supply.
Accuracy
Typical accuracy is around ±1 cent, which is the same ballpark as many standard pedal tuners.
The pedal was built like most typical stompboxes:
metal case
footswitch activation
standard ¼-inch input/output jacks
sized to fit a pedalboard
Players often note that it feels heavier and sturdier than expected for a cheap tuner.
The GFT-90 developed a reputation as a “cheap but surprisingly good” tuner pedal.
Two outputs
Bypass output – passes signal through even when tuning
Muted output – mutes the guitar when the pedal is engaged for silent tuning.
