This Stadco Soundmaster electric guitar, made in Japan in 1964, is in remarkably great condition for a 60-year-old instrument. It’s an iconic part of musical history - and it works perfectly and sounds outstanding!
* Body and Finish: It has an alder body with a vibrant Cherry Sunburst finish. Despite its age, it’s retained its color extremely well.
* Neck and Frets: It has an alder neck with 21 frets. The neck is straight, and the action is low, making it comfortable and easy to play. The frets are in excellent shape.
* Scale Length: 24.6”
* Pickups and Electronics: It has three pickups and three switches: one for each pickup and one for a boost. The controls consist of three volume knobs and one tone knob.
* Hardware: It features a chrome mirror pickguard and a 4-bolt neck plate. The machine heads keep the guitar in tune well.
* Playability: It has excellent intonation and overall playability. The tone pot can act as a filter, cutting the volume when turned fully clockwise.
* Condition: Many of these guitars are still in great shape despite their age, with only minor cosmetic issues. They often come with a modern, non-original hardshell case for protection.
A superb example of the critically acclaimed Japanese-made guitars of the 60s. It’s a rare gem!
