The ultimate collectible of modern saxophones, the Powell Silver Eagle was the brainchild of saxophonist Mike Smith. This Saxophone features brazed tone holes, which reduce stress and cut down on distortion of the instrument, and Powell is a master of this technique on their flutes. This is the first of the Solid Sterling Silver models, with a 24 karat gold wash solid sterling silver bell, but with brass neck.
With its big wide bore, this saxophone plays like American saxophones from the 1940s and 50s, similar to Conns, Bueschers and King saxophones. It has a true vintage tone with modern keywork. Handbuilt in Elkhart Indiana, these saxophones truly are a work of art and on of a kind, each being cryogenically treated for maximum response and resonance.
This particular Silver Eagle comes with a brass neck, original case and official certification from Powell.
