I am an experienced and effective exam-prep tutor and I would love to help you improve your score. I have a track record of success with the SAT, GRE, ISEE, and SSAT. I also have years of experience helping students perfect their college application essays. I do not write essays from scratch for students because I believe that the work must be their own, but I can help formulate ideas, provide honest feedback and guidance, revise drafts, edit, and proofread.

I work online, which allows me to charge significantly less per hour than most tutors in your area. I have worked for the national test-prep companies and consider my own techniques better than theirs because I excel at individualizing my instruction. I also have the freedom to use a variety of texts and resources.
I usually use Skype, and my laptop has a digital whiteboard and document-sharing function. I haven't found my online method to have any disadvantages when compared with in-person tutoring, as long as my student has a stable internet connection; in fact, I find that most students prefer online sessions after trying them with me. Scheduling is considerably easier, and there's no awkward bumping of knees or sharing of private space. I also find that shy students feel more comfortable with the online format.
I have a BA from Columbia University (graduated summa cum laude) and an MA from Vanderbilt University (3.8 GPA). I have tutored high school and college students for over ten years, and I enjoy working with students individually.
I charge just $38 per hour, with a one-hour weekly minimum. I accept payments via PayPal, Zelle, or the Cash app. For the best exam results, students do two or three sessions with me per week and complete some homework assignments. You probably could afford to pay more for tutoring sessions, but why should you? By working online from my home in an inexpensive town, I keep my costs much lower than average while maintaining superior session quality. Try me! If you don't like the first session, I won't even ask you to pay for it.
