The Packaging Associate is responsible for inspecting, packaging, labeling, and palletizing bakery products while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and production standards. The position requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and following all GMP, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Duties
Package finished bakery products according to customer specifications.
Inspect products for quality, appearance, weight, and packaging defects.
Label boxes and verify product codes and dates.
Stack and palletize finished goods for shipment.
Maintain accurate production and packaging records.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and sanitation requirements.
Keep work areas clean and organized.
Assist with line changeovers and packaging material replenishment.
Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems to supervisors.
Meet daily production and packaging goals.
Requirements
Manufacturing, warehouse, or food production experience preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to read and follow work instructions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Stand for extended periods.
Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work in varying temperature environments typical of food production facilities.
Schedule
Full-Time
Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production demands.
Work Environment
Food manufacturing facility.
Must follow GMP, food safety, sanitation, and OSHA requirements at all times. Interstate places significant emphasis on employee training, food safety, and quality assurance programs.
