This vase features a thick, patterned texture with a beautiful array of iridescent colors, including blue, copper, purple, green, and black.
Signed “Troost” on the bottom.
Measures 7” tall x 7” in diameter. Opening is 3 ½" in diameter. Bottom is 3 ½" in diameter.
Card reads: “Residing on the North Shore of Oahu, Robbrecht Troost creates these unusual glazed one-of-a-kind pieces. They are raku fired, a process which removes the pots around 1800° from the kiln and submerges them in banana leaves and koa wood shavings to produce these colorful copper and luster glazes. Meant for decorative purposes only.”
