We are searching for an energetic and engaging companion for our mother who resides in an assisted living facility in Brookline. The timeframe is likely for the morning hours several days a week, but is somewhat flexible.
She has had a full and interesting life but is now suffering from dementia.
You would help her get going in the morning, perhaps with a cup of coffee, a cheery smile and a willingness to carry the conversation.
You would not be responsible for dressing or bathing her, no housework nor medications.
Some days could involve a walk around the facility or to Jamaica Pond, or an outing to the arboretum or a museum. Others would be sitting and chatting and looking at pictures from her life. This agenda is also flexible based on your interests and hers.
You would need to have a car and be able to drive her on outings as needed.
