Behavioral Health Technician - Inpatient Psychiatry Waltham (Nights)

• Providing one-on-one support, as needed, to pients with a variety of behavioral health needs.
• Closely monitoring and maintaining the safety of pients. Observing behaviors and conditions in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
• In conjunction with Registered Nurse, conducting environmental checks and helps identifies risk factors.
• Aiding with the implemention of safety measures, such as physical restraints, observion levels, and suicide wches, as warranted.
• Responding to and assists with de-escaling acute behavioral episodes in a therapeutic and supportive manner. Attempts to understand the source of distress.
• Under the direction of Registered Nurse and medical staff, preventing elopement and calling for support/assistance when necessary to assist in preventing elopement.
• Identifying pient behaviors th could lead to behavioral escalion and utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escale situions.
• Actively monitoring pients and the environment with particular tention to safety concerns.
• May perform vital signs and assist with Activities of Daily Living as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Completing pient care documention and administrive duties
• Under the direction of Registered Nurse, may assist practitioners performing medical procedures.
• Schedule Nights and every other weekend & roting holidays. 8 hours shifts and 24 hours/week.

• A HS Diploma or equivalent. Associe’s degree preferred.

• BLS (Basic Life Support) within three months of hire
• Welle De-escalion training within six months of hire
• Six months of practical experience in a behavioral health or educional setting preferred

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expection for this pay the time of posting.
