Update -- gas one sold, only electric one is left.
Two snowblower motors for sale, one electric and one gas.
The gas motor came off my fathers machine -- a Troy-Bilt Vortex 2490. He said the motor runs ok, but it's slowly leaking gas from somewhere. He said last season, he put in just a little bit of gas whenever he needed to use it, and let it run dry afterwards to prevent the gas from leaking in the garage during storage. Could be a fitting that needs tightening, could need a new gas tank, I am not sure. I did not start it up myself, but you are welcome to start it to test it if you want to. When we transported the snowblower, we had to lay it on it's side -- a little bit of oil leaked out of the motor, so you will need to top off the oil as well.
The electric motor is a Toro 60V motor. I converted my father's snowblower to electric, and picked up two of these motors off eBay. I was originally planning on doing a second snowblower for myself, but I found a good deal on a pre-built electric model instead, so now I have an extra motor. These motors have all the electronics self-contained, which makes conversions pretty straightforward if you're mechanically inclined. Once you turn on the motor it automatically regulates the speed at the "standard speed" a gas snowblower would run at. I did measure it, but I forget the exact measurement -- I believe it was somewhere around 3500rpm. There is also an "eco" mode that lowers the speed to something like 50%, and increases battery runtime. Motor works well, but batteries are NOT included. If you are good with electronics, Toro batteries are pretty easy to re-balance so you can find them pretty cheap if you know how to fix them.
Asking $50 or best offer for the gas motor, and $200 for the electric.
