Pair of vintage handcrafted bobble head seashell turtles - Florida - $15 (Somerville)

Approximate dimensions: 2 3/8 wide x 1 7/8 deep x 1 3/8 inches high
* The head and tail are attached with a tiny metal weight, so that they move up and down when you give it a tap—the original bobblehead!
* Skillfully crafted. There are no big blobs of glue, and the shells that support the feet match nicely.
* Most definitely vintage. I am not sure exactly how vintage. It was purchased as a souvenir by my grandparents who enjoyed vacations in Florida for many years. I’m guessing they purchased it was some time in the 1960s or 1970s, but it could’ve been even earlier than that.
* The turtle with the brown head has handwritten on the bottom: Florida / 39
Does that mean that the original price was 39 cents!?! That will give you an indication of how old this animal is!
* The turtle with the brown has one seashell (on the “base” that the turtle stood on) that was is slightly chipped, which is not really noticeable unless you look closely.
* The turtle with the white head is in excellent condition
