Beautiful vintage Navajo handwoven rug sampler 16.75" x 11.5" purchased in Santa Fe in the 80s. Eye Dazzler geometric pattern in natural and dyed wool colors: white, light grey, brown/grey, dark brown/grey, black, and deep red. Have the provenance but have not been able to locate it. Brought it by local well-respected rug dealer for confirmation of my recollection and am happy to share that information.
Wool cross‑threads woven on wool base threads
Firm, rounded selvage edges on both long sides.
Warp ends at each corner are knotted and twisted in a traditional Navajo finishing style
Approximately 16.75" x 11.5" (As with most handwoven Navajo textiles, measurements can vary slightly by about 1/4".)
A wonderful example of a small Navajo weaving from the late 20th century — perfect for display, framing, or adding to a Southwest or Native American textile collection.
