FRONT OF HOUSE POSITIONS AVAILABLE—BARTENDERS, SERVERS, HOSTS
At "Craigie Next Door", we serve family-style dinners every night Wednesday through Sunday evening, cooked by Chef / Owner Tony Maws under the stars on a private outdoor lot adjacent to the restaurant. We’re not talking about cute little pretentious plates of micro-sized food here. Instead, imagine bountiful summer salads, grilled farmer’s market vegetables, local fish and meats with all the flavors and originality you have come to expect in your Craigie on Main meals, just shareable. Simply put, we are throwing a dinner party outside each night for you and yours!
Our ideal candidates will be able to calmly and purposefully deliver an outstanding dining experience to our guests day in and day out. You'll find yourself serving some of the best food, pouring delightful beverages, and conversing with our fascinating and friendly "Craigie community" of guests—whether decade-plus regulars or brand new faces. We are building a team of folks who can communicate in an honest, forthright, and consistent way, never cutting corners (even when shit is going down!). Our Front of House staff are our ambassadors of the restaurant and motivated to turn our guests into lifelong supporters and friends through exceptional service and memorable moments of hospitality.
While we're going to have some fun with this year's outdoor dining program, our restaurant is also a prime place to learn the ins and outs of restaurant work and grow your skillset in food, beverage, and beyond. We are looking to the future in many aspects of restaurant operations, particularly on the topic of equitable wage for our entire restaurant staff, and are excited to bring on like-minded individuals who want to “walk the talk” and use our restaurant as a springboard to champion positive change to our amazing and resilient restaurant community.

OVERALL GOALS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
** Gain relevant knowledge and experience in all aspects of restaurant operations to achieve personal job and career goals.
** Work with daily restaurant staff in setting up and detailing outdoor dining space for nightly dinner services, and breakdown after service.
** Support other members of the team during service through activities such as running food, setting and clearing tables, organizing, and cleaning.
SPECIFIC TO SERVERS & BARTENDERS
** Provide an unparalleled dining experience through the service of food and drink to a wide range of guests.
** Possess an intimate knowledge food and beverage menus to speak confidently with guests tableside.
** Recommend and prepare (Bartenders) specialty beverages and other beverage alcohol (and non-alcoholic) for guests.
SPECIFIC TO HOSTS:
** Be the "face" of Craigie on Main in welcoming a wide range of guests to our restaurant's outdoor dining space.
** Coordinate reservations and seating of guests in the outdoor dining space during service.
** Communicate with guests regarding reservations, general inquiries, etc. via restaurant phone and email.
** Liaise with Management and Kitchen team to maximize the number of guests we are able to service without sacrificing our core service philosophies.
