This is a fully functional, great sounding, and cosmetically beautiful classic Technics turntable. This is one of their better , direct drive models, with stable speed and no need to replace belts ever. Quality built in Japan in the 80's. Everything is perfect.. The dust cover is excellent. Hinges are good. Tabs are good. It stays up when you put it up. This has an Audio Technica DR350 cartridge, and the needle has minimal miles, with a sharp tip. The plinth is free of any marks, stains, or scratches. The auto stop and auto return functions as new. I have calibrated the tonearm balance for optimal tracking. Technics made the best performing, reasonably priced, most reliable turntables. Japanese audio quality is like Swiss watch quality. They knew what they were doing,.. and they made things right. This blows away any of the new Chinese tables from companies like Audio Technica. You spend a lot on records,.. Don't skimp on the hardware. Get a table that will milk the most fidelity from your vinyl.
