This is a vintage Heathkit HW-101 Tube Transceiver with original Heathkit power Supply model HP-23A , Heathkit HP 23 23A /B HP-23C PS-23 power supply cable , and antenna. No mic or any other accessories are included. This is in excellent cosmetic condition. This was acquired as part of an estate sale,.. and I am unsure of it's history. This estate sale had several other items , mostly stereo,.. and I purchased them as well. This previous owner took meticulous care of all his equipment. This radio is clean, and in excellent cosmetic shape , with some vintage patina, but nothing horrible. It is clean on the inside as well. All tubes light up.
I am not a Ham Radio operator, and my knowledge of the vast world of these radios is very limited. I was able to plug this in, and I hooked it up to a speaker ( the speaker is not included ) . All dials , buttons , and lights seem to work without issue. I was able to get some signals out of it. Primarily frequency tones. I live in the part of Danvers near the ocean,.. and I have difficulty getting any radio stations here... even FM.. therefore, I figure this will work much better in a more radio friendly location. Also, the antenna I have is a cheap $20 Amazon antenna. With the proper antenna, this will surely pick up more signals. I was not able to test the transmit function,.. as I have no microphone.
