These are pieces of art, created by legendary British industrial designer Kenneth Grange. Google him. He was a fascinating guy.
This is a fully functional pair of great sounding B&W Concept 90 series book shell type speakers. These are a compete speakers system with CM1 tops and CM2 bottoms. B&W made these in 1987. They are among the cooler B&W speaker designs I have ever seen,.. and they sound amazing. Quality crafted in England. All drivers are original, Tweeters have no dents. Woofers have good surrounds. Cabinets are in excellent shape , as well as the grills. They aren't perfect,.. but they are definitely nice for a 40 year old pair,. with no major scratches or dings. These utilize a retro-modern design and they make for a great conversation piece. Serial numbers are consecutive, which means that this is a matched pair, made on the same day,. and they will provide mirror image sound. They sound just as good as they look, with shimmering highs, and deep , fast, punchy bass. They retailed for over $4000 in 1987, and were among B&W's more expensive speakers. Some of the screws show a bit of oxidization patina as you would expect from 40 year old speakers.
The concept 90 series has been designed in the relationship with Kenneth Grange who is in charge of Pentagram Design Laboratory.
For the concept90 series, only the model number was written in the catalog at that time, but since CM1 and CM2 were sold with the same model number, it is written as concept90 at the end of the model number.

This system adopts a unique three dimensional structure in which the interior is arranged in a lattice shape, and has high rigidity, thereby eliminating the harmful resonance of the cabinet which makes sound muddy.
A stand corresponding to the leg is attached.
There was a CM column sub-bus module as an option sold separately.
The CM column is the same as the lower woofer of CM2concept90. By adding the CM column, the configuration is equivalent to that of CM2.
