The Cambridge SoundWorks Ensemble II subwoofer is among the most highly acclaimed speakers of all time. Designed by Cambridge SoundWorks co-founder, Emmy Award winner and Audio Hall of Fame member Henry Kloss, the New Ensemble II is an improved version of the classic speaker. However, much remains the same. The overall tonal balance, dispersion and frequency range of the new model is identical.
The new, more robust construction of the subwoofer results in increased ability to be used safely with today's modern high-current amplifiers. The cabinet encloses two 6 1/2-inch woofers in a single enclosure that uses a bandpass filter - a two-part filter that cuts highs and lows to leave a band in the middle.
The subwoofer has gold-plated five-way connecting posts.
