I'm looking for a VERY "people-person" photographer to join a team to shoot "lifestyle" portraits for a particular purpose/assignment. This is an unusual assignment and there will be clear instructions and training to meet specific criteria.
These photos have an unusual purpose other then the art of the photograph so please be open to shooting in a possibly unusual way to achieve certain photographic goals. Of course your own innate vision and talent and skills will be very valued. I know the details of the "assignment" are very vague. I'm sorry but they need to be at this stage. Finding the right match is very important for this job so I am starting the characteristics of the person needed and we'll move on from there with the details if you are interested and the match seems to be a good one.
Need a person with the following characteristics:
You are someone who will enjoy being very interactive/playful with the client to get the desired effect.
You will enjoy making the subject feel good about themselves in various ways to get the desired shots.
You like seeing the best in someone or will like doing that for the shoot. Not JUST for the sake of the photos but that idea even feels good to you on a personal level.
You are eager to learn a particular style and follow particular directions and protocol for these assignments
You accept that you are shooting for someone else and you may be asked to shoot very differently than you are used to and you understand and are OK with this. And are prepared and VERY willing/eager to shoot according to a style maybe VERY different than your own. This will not be an issue for you at all.
You are proficient with a digital SLR (mirorless ok too) and have a camera with approximately the following zoom lenses 24-70 or 24-105, 70-200 Camera brand doesn't matter. And if you don’t have these exact lense, this will probably not be a problem
You have daylight and weekend hours available for these shoots (2 hrs each)
Expect the client/subject to sometimes have a life changing experience from your work with them. Feeling better about themselves than before the shoot. This alone should have significant value to you.
You can fit the shoots into your own schedule and location and you can adjust your schedule at will. The client can see your availability in order to book the session. Once booked you must keep the booking but you can change your availability any time. No requirement of how often you take jobs once you are trained and meet quality expectations.
Can be at a location convenient to you
Set fee per shoot is $200-$300 (or more) for a 2 hr session. There is a potential for 10 or more shoots per month
When you reply to this job offer please provide the following:
1) A link to some of your work of candids and portraits of people.
2) An explanation why why you are interested in this position and why it seems like a good fit for you on a personal and/or professional level.
3) A list of your equipment
4) Your phone number.
Thanks for your interest!
