IT and Electronics services. I've been working in IT since 2014, and independent since 2018. My specialties are that I provide the customer with full documentation so that they remain in control of their network and can be vendor agnostic (i.e. not locked into my services). Additionally, I also work with electronics and can consult with regards to PCBA, product design, and testing.
What will happen if your IT guy gets hit by a bus? Or if the cloud services suddenly go offline? Don't be caught dependent upon your IT vendor. Work with a company that provides full documentation so that you remain in control.

Full Documentation of your Network: You retain all network information. Historical backup of files, so that you can restore files from the past (not just a running backup like Google Drive or Onedrive).
Built to last: I deploy hardware that does not require replacement every couple years. Linux servers can be updated year after year, and do not require reinstallation/a hardware replacement, unlike Microsoft Server OS. My Routers, also can be updated, and never go End of Life. The one exception to this is WiFi, which unfortunately, requires somewhat proprietary options at this point. There is no good option for WiFi that is built to last. However, my surveillance systems are guaranteed, as well as the digital signage.
Surveillance systems: I have built up to 40 camera systems. Mobile phone access. Future proof: No vendor lock-in. No cloud dependency. ONVIF support. Email alerts. Further accessories, such as motion detectors and sensors can be added. I have built weatherproof portable systems, that can be connected to via cellphone internet, and can be brought to record for short term (e.g. weeks or months) on job sites. I can do object detection, and potentially facial recognition/custom object detection.
Electronics Design & Repair: I have experience with Atmega, Attiny, PIC, LED drivers, Xilinx, Beaglebone, Raspberry Pi, PCB layout, assembly (THT, SMD), mechanical design, and overall have a competent base in electronics design. Repairing items is done more for fun, rather than for profit, but I am available, if someone has something they would like possibly fixed.
Mechanical Design: 3D printing with FreeCAD and a Prusa i3 MK3. I have a printables profile, where you can view some of my work. We are in the golden age of 3D printers, and there's really no reason not to be proficient with some mechanical design.
Programming: Python, C, HTML/PHP/CSS, Lisp. Arduino. I have read more than a few O'Reilly books (and many others). I am looking for an opportunity to do business database software and GUI work.
I'm located 10 miles north of Boston. For more details see steakelectronics dot com.
