Target product is a multi ARM/DSP processor instrument running firmware in a somewhat customized kernel (originally supplied by TI) on the target iron. Ongoing development is hampered by the fact that chip vendor has not updated the toolchain for this family of processors (daVinci chip) in 6-7 years, and the fact that cross compiling is performed on a 32-bit Ubuntu platform that is approaching sunset.
We need someone to step in, review existing 3rd party tool options (including vendor's offerings for similar chip families,) identify a viable toolset, conduct a proof of concept and assist in converting the product team to the new tools.
The right candidate will be an expert who will take charge, and work with the existing firmware team.
Renumeration for the right expert will be consistent with the ability to hit the road running and to accomplish this effort in about 3 months, +/-. 1099 only.
Can work remote: w/ one day per week onsite initially in the Boston area; after mid Oct, Marlboro area.
