Worn 3-5 times, minor scuffs on bottom sole sides you only see when you look for it. The leather has some minor wear seen in photos. The laces look like new.
I bought these at Marui Ueno in Tokyo, Japan around 2001–2002. If you check the label, it should indicate the year. These are very well made. As you may have read, luxury products today are increasing in price while quality is decreasing. I’ve noticed that this demi-boot style is now being sold again under various Yohji lines for $600–$1,000. Item number – MP-E12-711-1-06 (I did not buy these in 1993 or 2011 as one could be mislead. I bought them in 2001 or 2002 in spring so not sure with the second letter is P.)
These were Japanese-market shoes, not Western-market. If you have wide feet, they are probably too tight for you. Feel free to ask for specific measurements. It is difficult to convert the size to US standards since these were never sold in the US and Yohji uses its own sizing system for most products. They never fit me well, which is why I’m selling them. They are more like a US size 10–10.5 (I am 11–11.5 US).
These come with the shoe box and the fabric bag shown in the photos as well.
Yohji Yamamoto is a Japanese fashion designer based in Tokyo and Paris. Considered a master tailor, he is known for his avant-garde tailoring featuring Japanese design aesthetics. Y’s was his first label before the Yohji Yamamoto line was created (I’m pretty sure, but please check online history — I can’t include links here).
Japanese designer, avant-garde.
